Abstract: The study of the distribution of galaxy luminosities (i.e the luminosity function, LF) in different environments provides constraints on the physics of galaxy evolution. The infrared (IR) LF is a particularly useful tool since it is directly related to the distribution of galaxy star-formation rates (SFRs). I here present the determination of the galaxy IR LF as a function of the environment in a supercluster at redshift 0.23, which contains a massive cluster and a large-scale filament of galaxies. The analysis is based on multiwavelength data, which include optical, near-IR, and mid- to far-IR photometry, as well as redshifts from optical spectroscopy. I show that the filament (respectively, the core) contains the highest (respectively, the lowest) fraction of IR-bright galaxies at all levels of IR luminosities, as well as the highest (respectively, the lowest) average SFR per galaxy. I provide an interpretation of these results in terms of a plausible scenario for the different paths of galaxy evolution in and around clusters.
