Title: SZ Surveys as Cosmological and Cluster Probes
Date: Wednesday, September 3, 2014
Time: 11:30
Venue: Villa Bazzoni

Abstract Measurements of the SZ effect in hundreds of clusters by the Planck satellite, and by (the ground-based) SPT & ACT, have broadened the scope of CMB research to the evolution of the large scale structure of the universe at late times. Aspects of analytic and numerical modeling of statistical measures of clusters will be discussed and exemplified by quantifying the predicted sensitivity of measuring the total neutrino mass from SZ number counts, and by an assessment of the uncertainty in determining the SZ power spectrum based on our extended merger-tree code for modeling cluster evolution.
