Abstract:
I discuss the use of Type Ia supernovae as cosmological probes and describe some of the problems associated with their use as standardizable candles as well as attempts to understand the nature of second order differences between SNe Ia. Finally I briefly describe preliminary work on attempts to understand the extremely slow declining SN 2001ay.
