Abstract
Bayesian methodology is very popular in Bayesian cosmology and is even often considered as the only way to process properly astronomical data set. Recent progress in harmonic analysis such as compressed sensing theory or sparsity however open us new ways to acquire/analyze data which can be hardly understood from the Bayesian perspective. We briefly review the concept of sparsity and its relation to Compressed Sensing, the new sampling theory, then we show how these new concepts can help for CMB or Weak Lensing data analysis.
