I am based at the Astronomical Observatory of Trieste, part of INAF, the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics, and sometimes work at IFPU. I contribute to the vibrant local Large-Scale Structure group.
My research focuses on the large-scale structure (LSS) of the Universe: why matter is distributed the way it is, how these cosmic structures emerged, and what we can learn about fundamental physics by studying it. Currently, I focus on how cosmic cold gas, in the form of neutral hydrogen, traces LSS. I am also interested in addressing the challenges posed by complex signals, such as hydrogen intensity maps, by developing specific statistical methods.
I am a member of the MeerKLASS collaboration. We are doing exciting things: harnessing a powerful radio array, transforming it into a network of radiotelescopes to capture, for the first time ever, the elusive LSS signal from neutral hydrogen. Our efforts open an entirely new window onto the study of the cosmos.
